North Carolina U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis introduced the ROAD (Road to Opportunity and Development) Act on Thursday, a bill that designates the highway between Raleigh and Norfolk, Va., as a future interstate, a move that would speed travel between Raleigh and the coast.
…This is the second transportation project that Tillis and Butterfield have collaborated on recently. They also introduced the Military Corridor Transportation Improvement Act of 2015. It would declare high priority and future interstate highways for U.S. Route 117/Interstate Route 795 from Goldsboro to Interstate Route 40 west of Faison, and U.S. Route 70 from Garner to Morehead City.
