The Pain-Capable bill’s introduction in the US Senate comes within a week of passage of North Carolina’s HB 465, which, among other pro-life reforms, strengthened North Carolina’s 20-week abortion ban. “This week the North Carolina legislature passed legislation strengthening our state’s 20-week ban and we are delighted to see our pro-life leaders at the federal level taking similar steps,” said Tami Fitzgerald, Executive Director of the NC Values Coalition. “The Pain-Capable bill that Senators Burr and Tillis are championing could save up to 18,000 innocent lives every year.”
