This Labor Day weekend, North Carolina will be experiencing gusty winds and a tremendous amount of rainfall and we anticipate this inclement weather to continue as Hermine makes its way up the East Coast. There is potential for power outages and major flooding in many low-lying areas, particularly in the Outer Banks.

Governor McCrory has declared a State of Emergency to assist with storm preparation and response, and I want to make sure you have important contact information available in the occasion you need to deal with power outages or any emergencies. My staff across the state stands ready if you have any issues connecting with Federal Disaster Assistance or FEMA.
