Working on Behalf of all North Carolina Veterans and Servicemembers
My top priority has been taking care of our servicemembers and veterans. As a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee and the Senate Armed Services Committee, I have worked across the aisle to make sure our brave men and women receive benefits, pay raises, and protections they deserve.

Protecting North Carolinians from Price Gougers
When the COVID-19 pandemic began in the United States, many Americans noticed that prices on necessary, everyday items shot up. My office has also heard stories about bad actors in different states and countries who were attempting to upcharge prices on PPE to rip-off our health care systems.

Supporting Flexibility for School Meals
I remain committed to helping every family during this unprecedented time, especially every child in our great state of North Carolina.

Supporting Vaccine Research and Accessibility
To beat COVID-19, we must support our medical researchers, academic institutions, scientists, and doctors as they work tirelessly to discover cures and treatments, and ultimately a safe and effective vaccine, for COVID-19. That is why I have been leading the bipartisan push for more funding for COVID-19 medical research.

Wear a Mask to Protect You, Your Neighbor, and Your Communities
And remember that wearing a facial covering not only helps save lives, it will also help save jobs. Safely Reopening Schools and Providing Students with Quality Education
It is my highest priority to ensure that schools are safely opened as soon as possible in a way that protects the overall health and well-being of all students, families, educators, and school employees. When physical reopening is not possible, we need to make sure students are receiving the highest quality education possible.
