North Carolina Senators Thom Tillis and Richard Burr applauded the Senate for unanimously confirming the nomination of Andrew Murray as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina. Mr. Murray was nominated by President Trump at the recommendation of Senators Tillis and Burr.

Since 2011, Andrew Murray has served as the elected District Attorney of Mecklenburg County. He also had a long and distinguished career in the United States Coast Guard, serving 35 years as an active duty and reserve officer.

Mr. Murray earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law and began his law career at the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office, where he served as an Assistant District Attorney.

“Andrew Murray has a decorated career in public service between his 35-year career in the United States Coast Guard and most recently as the District Attorney for the largest prosecutorial district in North Carolina,” said Senator Thom Tillis. “I applaud the Senate for confirming Andrew and I look forward to him serving the people of Western North Carolina.”

“I’m very pleased to see Andrew confirmed to be the next U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina,” said Senator Richard Burr. “I have the utmost confidence that he will serve the people of North Carolina well in this role, and I wish him all the best.”
