WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) released the following statement after the U.S. Senate passed The Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015 today with a 99-0 vote:

“I am pleased that the Senate was able to come together to pass this important bipartisan legislation, which gives law enforcement officers the tools they need to combat human traffickers and provides a small measure of justice for trafficking victims to help them begin the healing process. For too long, human trafficking, one of the most heinous crimes imaginable, has flown under the public’s radar, and the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act has already played a key role in raising the public’s awareness that modern-day slavery is occurring in America’s communities and must be stopped using all resources that are available.”
