WASHINGTON, D.C. – During a Senate Special Committee on Aging hearing on the fight against Alzheimer’s Disease, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) stressed the need for Congress to invest in Alzheimer’s Disease research, noting that funding promising treatments makes smart fiscal sense.

“This is a classic example of where the head and the heart meet, because with the investment of resources we do the right fiscal thing, but we also make a tremendous transformational impact for those inflicted with Alzheimer’s,” said Senator Tillis. “We need to make sure we educate our members here in the House and Senate on the compelling fiscal reasons to do something that produces a transformational outcome.”
