Given the innumerable challenges that small business owners face, PPP loans were designed to be forgiven to prevent small business owners from incurring additional debt, provided employees were kept on payroll.

Tillis, Colleagues Urge Top Health Officials to Swiftly Distribute Emergency COVID-19 Funds to Hospitals Serving Low-Income, Vulnerable Populations
Senator Tillis along with 15 of his colleagues recently sent a bipartisan letter to HHS Secretary Alex Azar and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma requesting that the administration act swiftly to distribute emergency funding allocated in COVID-19 spending packages to hospitals that overwhelmingly serve Medicaid and low-income patients. Without adequate federal funding, these hospitals will be unable to effectively treat the country’s most vulnerable communities.

While we continue to work to lower the homeless veteran count, we must ensure we protect this vulnerable population during the pandemic. This bipartisan legislation will give the VA the resources it needs to provide assistance and ensure access to VA health care services.
