Congressional internships offer students a unique opportunity to observe and participate in the workings of the United States Senate. Interns may apply for opportunities in my Washington, DC office as well as in my state offices. DC interns carry out a variety of responsibilities, such as answering calls from constituents, writing constituent correspondence, and giving tours of the U.S. Capitol. They also have the opportunity to write memos and letters, conduct research, and attend committee hearings. State interns answer calls and assist constituents, perform various administrative duties related to casework and outreach efforts, learn about the legislative process, and experience how a Senate state office operates.
