WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) today issued the following statement after a federal district court temporarily halted President Obama’s executive actions on immigration:

“Today, a federal district court agreed that President Obama’s executive actions on immigration overstep his constitutional authority. The ruling comes as no surprise, as the President himself previously stated no fewer than 22 times that he lacked the ability to unilaterally change or ignore our nation’s immigration laws. Moving forward, I urge President Obama to respect the rule of law and work with Congress on solutions to secure our borders.”
