WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) issued the following statement announcing his support for East Carolina University’s attempt to join the Big 12 Conference:

“Time after time, East Carolina University has proven itself on and off the field. ECU is an institution with high academic standards and an athletic program quickly on the rise, all supported by a deeply loyal fan base and alumni network that extends far beyond the state of North Carolina. The Pirates would be a perfect fit for the Big 12, and I strongly support ECU’s effort to be admitted as the newest member of the conference.”
