WASHINGTON, D.C. – Recently, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed a resolution, co-sponsored by U.S. Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), designating April 17- 25, 2021 as National Park Week. The resolution encourages people around the country and world to spend time in America’s treasured national parks.

“Since the onset of the pandemic, North Carolinians have found refuge at many of North Carolina’s beautiful parks, including the Great Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway,” said Senator Tillis. “It’s important to celebrate these lands that have been around for generations. I am proud to have supported this resolution to honor these cherished parks and applaud the Senate on its quick passage.”
