Tillis Calls on Senate Democrats to Support Law Enforcement and Pass the Protect and Serve Act
The Senate should take the lead and pass meaningful legislation to protect law enforcement officers, increase funding, improve training, and raise standards. That's why I again call on my colleagues to support and pass the Protect and Serve Act, a bill that I introduced that I hope we can get passed. The Protect and Serve Act would punish dangerous criminals who murder a law enforcement officer in the line of duty.”

Tillis Co-Introduces Two Proposals To Prevent Democrats from Packing the Supreme Court
Their proposals are dangerous and would give them free rein to appoint radical judges who would legislate from the bench, threatening the religious liberty and Second Amendment rights of North Carolinians. We have had nine judges on the Supreme Court since 1869, and efforts to change the Court are not supported by the majority of the American people. I am proud to co-introduce these proposals to stop Chuck Schumer’s radical liberal agenda and maintain the integrity of the Supreme Court.

Tillis: Judge Barrett Will Make a Great Supreme Court Justice
Judge Barrett received a ‘well-qualified’ rating by the American Bar Association and is an inspiration to everyone, especially to young aspiring female lawyers. I look forward to voting for her confirmation on the Senate floor.

Tillis Applauds President Trump for Granting North Carolina’s Disaster Declaration for Hurricane Isaias
Helping our cities and towns affected by any disaster that crosses North Carolina’s coast is a top priority of mine and I will always fight to ensure North Carolina has the resources it needs to recover. I want to thank President Trump for his continued assistance in recovering from these storms.

Tillis Gets Medical Clearance to Resume In-Person Activities, Will Participate in Antibody Studies to Help Defeat COVID
I want to thank my doctors who provided guidance throughout my quarantine since testing positive for COVID-19. I feel very fortunate that I had a mild case with few symptoms, and I want to thank North Carolinians for their prayers and well-wishes. As we all know, COVID-19 is a very contagious and deadly virus, and I am proud to enroll in the antibody research study through Atrium Health and Wake Forest Baptist Health and volunteer to participate in UNC Chapel Hill’s immunology study and help however I can to end COVID. I look forward to returning to Washington and participating in-person at the Senate Judiciary hearings and confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.

Tillis Discusses Role of Supreme Court in Opening Remarks of Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s Confirmation Hearing
“Judge Barrett’s rulings aren’t meant to be for or against a particular policy outcome. She’s not a legislator, that is supposed to be our job. However, when the minority party cannot get their bad policies passed, they turn to the courts and demand that judges interpret the law not as written—but as they prefer to be.”
