Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) today announced that Courtney Temple will serve as his next Legislative Director.

Temple most recently served as Senator Tillis’ Senior Legislative Assistant, where she focused on immigration policy.  Prior to joining Senator Tillis’ office in 2015, Temple was the Director of Government Relations at U.S. Travel Association, where she worked with Republican members of Congress on issues related to traveler visa reform, the TSA screening process, and the Terrorism Risk Insurance program. Prior to that, Temple served as Legislative Director for former Representative Joe Heck (R-NV-3), where she focused on education, workforce, and travel and tourism issues. Temple also served in legislative roles for former Representatives David Hobson (R-OH-7) and Steve Austria (R-OH-7).

“Courtney is a legislative all-star whose work ethic and passion for public policy is unmatched,” said Senator Thom Tillis. “Her promotion is well-deserved, and I’m excited to have her leading our legislative team as we advance policy priorities in the 115th Congress that will generate opportunities for hardworking Americans and get our nation headed back in the right direction.”

Temple will be succeeding Katy Talento, who was recently appointed by the Trump-Pence Presidential Transition Team to serve on the White House Domestic Policy Council, where she will oversee healthcare policy.
