Today, at the recommendation of North Carolina Senators Thom Tillis and Richard Burr, President Trump announced his intention to nominate Matthew Martin to serve as U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina.
 
Mr. Martin has a long legal career and extensive involvement in the community. Mr. Martin earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law and is currently the Associate General Counsel for Duke Energy.
 
“Matthew Martin is a highly qualified nominee and I am confident he will make an effective U.S. Attorney,” said Senator Tillis. “Mr. Martin has extensive legal experience that will be beneficial as he serves the Middle District of North Carolina, and I look forward to his quick confirmation.”
 
“Mr. Martin is an excellent choice for U.S. Attorney in North Carolina,” said Senator Burr. “His vast experience in the private sector have prepared him well to bring a fresh perspective to the Middle District Attorney’s Office. I know Mr. Martin is well suited for the job and I look forward to a prompt nomination process so he can get in place as quickly as possible.”
